Authentic SAZAC Kigurumi

Kutame only sells authentic SAZAC kigurumi. As Japan's number one kigurumi manufacturer, quality is of the utmost importance. The quality of SAZAC onesies is unrivaled around the world.

This industry leading quality and attention to detail means that unfortunately copycat manufacturers will try (and fail!) to mimic SAZAC products. It doesn't take much to notice a major difference in quality between authentic kigurumi and copycat "kigurumi" (can we even still call them kigurumi at this point?).

Fake. vs. Real: Stitch Kigurumi

Authentic Sazac Kigurumi

For starters, copycat "kigurumi" are made of much thinner fabric. Sometimes crushed velvet (which deteriorates much more quickly than fleece), cotton, and poly - which are poorly stitched together.

Fakes tend to have wonky-looking faces: crossed eyes, asymmetrical features, and visible stitch defects. Colors won't be nearly as vivid, lining is often missing completely, and features (such as sleeves, tails, ears, wings, etc.), are overall much less sturdy, and end up looking downright sad.
